Perfect Lake Vacation

Our family had a wonderful vacation here this week. The house is set up with everything needed for a great week at the lake and is immaculately clean. We spent most of our time enjoying jumping off the dock and swimming in the clear Lake James water, kayaking, paddleboarding and catching fish. Rented pontoon one day and loved exploring the lake. Took some nice hikes nearby and visited Linville Caverns. The screened porch has a beautiful view and we loved relaxing out there. We highly recommend this house! Thanks for a great week at the lake.

We are second time visitors and I can't believe I'm saying this - but it was even BETTER then the first time. The house is a dream - right on the lake with lots of fun extras (paddle board, kayaks, floats, life jackets, etc). We rented a boat for 3 nights and we were able to dock it right at the house.....crazy convenience. The house had everything you would hope to expect - and then some.....fresh flowers, extra supplies (paper towels, toilet paper, laundry and dish detergent, coffee supplies and condiments) and plenty of towels and linens. It was beyond clean and is obviously a meticulously maintained property. We are very much looking forward to another trip. It's the perfect getaway for our family of five! Thank you for once again, hosting an amazing family trip for us!

Newman's Nook was amazing! I would highly recommend it. It is very stylish, and great use of space!! Unfortunately, we weren't able to go around town, or explore, due to COVID-19, but that was not in our control. Overall, it was a great time, and we would definitely go back!!

Winter Vacation

This was our first trip to Lake James and it far exceeded our expectations. The home was beautifully decorated with attention to every detail. The decor looked like something you would see on HGTV, It was also fully stocked with everything we needed for our stay and more. The wonderful views from every room added to the relaxing ambience of the home. The host was super helpful in preparing us for our stay and checking in to make sure we had everything we needed. It was a great way to spend New Years and we even had a day warm enough to kayak (the boat house is well stocked with equipment). We look forward to returning and would highly recommend this home to anyone looking for a great place to stay!

Beautiful home – amazing lake

The home is brand new, Perfectly decorated. The kitchen is well stocked. We have been renting homes since the 80’s , this house was the best ! The pool next store was beautiful. The host was always available for questions.

Newman's Nook was a perfect holiday getaway for our families and friends. We watched lots of college football, ate nonstop, worked puzzles and played board games for an entire weekend. The great room with fireplace was ideal for sharing time together while the spacious and luxurious bedrooms let us spread out when we needed. Highly recommended!!

Love our stay!

I stay with a group of good friends and we had an amazing time. The house was immaculately clean and the kitchen was stocked with more than the basic necessities; so preparing our meals was very easy. The owner sent us a welcome message and was available to answer our questions. The best part was spending time on the screened porch and catching up good friends. We will definitely have this property in mind for our next weekend out.

Awesome family getaway!

Our family had a terrific time enjoying everything about Newman's Nook! Relaxing Mountain Lake Retreat

Lovely home with neighborhood pool just a few steps away. Kitchen had good knives! We rented a boat and enjoyed exploring the lake and the beautiful mountain views. Nice to have two king bed suites. Definitely recommend for an escape with family and friends.

Amazing getaway

My family and I stayed here for a week. The house was beautiful, comfortable, and very CLEAN - which we greatly appreciated. The location of the house is a dream, being on the lake and right next to the pool, with tall trees surrounding it. Though we didn't really need to venture far from the house to enjoy the trip, it was an easy drive to nearby trails for those of us who wanted to do some hiking. We highly recommend this vacation home.

A Super Fun House

We had such a fun time at this house. The kids spent the majority of the time on the dock (and jumping off) and we loved having easy access to kayaks and paddle board. The kids also loved the foosball table. The owner was very attentive and beyond helpful in making our stay comfortable and enjoyable. Can’t wait to come back!
