Summer Vacation?
Enjoy swimming in the cool, soothing waters of Lake James or rent a pontoon boat to explore the lake. Visit the lake islands and stop by Lake James beach. Fish from the dock or just enjoy the sun and scenery. Consider visiting multiple local waterfalls.
Fall or Spring Vacation?
A perfect time of year! The water is often warm enough to enjoy. It’s also prime for fishing! Mountain biking trails are nearby and hiking trails are numerous. Popular hikes are to the top of Shortoff Mountain or into the Linville Gorge for majestic views. In the Fall, experience breathtaking beauty with leaves on full display. Enjoy a drive on the Blue Ridge Parkway.
Winter Vacation?
A serene time to enjoy snow-topped mountains and the peaceful lake. Feel the warmth of the fireplace after a day of hiking, snow tubing or skiing. Sugar Mountain, Jonas Ridge and Beech Mountain offer these activities close by.
